Trading journal with backtesting
To be clear from the start: Altiora is not the only journal with backtesting. TradeZella, TradesViz and TraderSync advertise it too. The difference is price, and everything sitting in a single plan — not whether the feature exists.
Backtesting and replay are not the same thing
- Backtesting answers "does this strategy have an edge?". It needs volume: many trades across many market conditions.
- Replay answers "can I actually execute it?". The market advances bar by bar and you decide without seeing what comes next — the only way to test execution without hindsight bias.
- A tool that only does the first tells you whether your plan is good. It tells you nothing about why you are not following it.
What is included
- Bar-by-bar replay on historical data, with speed and step control.
- Drawing tools that survive between sessions, and a position tool that lays entry, stop and target on the chart.
- A backtest journal kept separate from the live one: your trials do not pollute your real trading statistics.
- Challenge presets so you can backtest under a prop firm’s actual constraints rather than in a vacuum.
- One subscription: €9.90/month billed annually, with no higher tier to unlock before backtesting is available.

What is the difference between backtesting and replay?
Backtesting measures whether a strategy has an edge, across volume. Replay walks the market bar by bar to test your execution without seeing what comes next. Altiora does both in the same module.
Is backtesting included in the base subscription?
Yes. Altiora has a single subscription, at €14.90 per month or €9.90 per month billed annually. There is no higher tier to buy before backtesting is available.
Which other journals offer backtesting?
TradeZella, TradesViz and TraderSync all advertise backtesting and replay. Their entry prices, read from the vendors, range from €13.49 to $29.95 per month.
Do my backtests pollute my real statistics?
No. A backtest session feeds a backtest journal that is separate from your live one, so your real trading statistics stay intact.
